Angie's Lightning Strike

The storm rolled in suddenly, the desert sky darkening to a tumultuous gray. Angie, just five years old, stood hand-in-hand with her mother, her small figure dwarfed by the vast, rocky landscape around them. The air was heavy with electricity, the distant rumble of thunder growing louder. Ancient carvings on nearby stones—a series of spirals and symbols—seemed to hum faintly, as if resonating with the storm’s approach.

Then, it happened.

A blinding flash split the sky, a single, jagged bolt of lightning racing down to meet Angie. For a moment, time seemed to freeze. The bolt struck her directly, its raw, crackling energy surrounding her in an otherworldly glow. Her mother’s scream was swallowed by the deafening crash of thunder that followed. Angie’s small frame was lifted slightly off the ground, her hair and dress blown back by the force. The carvings on the stones around her flared with light, reacting as if the lightning was more than just a natural phenomenon.

As Angie lay on the ground, her mother seemingly vanished. Angie, now not fully conscious, reached out to her mother, but before she could make contact, a mysterious spaceship appeared overhead. A beam of light descended, enveloping Angie, and she was lifted into the air, leaving her mother behind. The storm raged on, but Angie was gone.
